It may be New Year’s Eve, but that doesn’t mean we’ll be sitting around all day waiting for the clock to strike. We’re off to the historic Jamestown and Kwame Nkrumah Memorial to learn a bit more about Ghanaian history.
By night time, we’ll ALL be turning ALL the way up to bring in 2024 with a luxurious bang! ♥
Today, you’ll have the chance to chill beachside in Cape Coast, while taking in your final moments in Ghana.
Then, it’s back to Accra.
(Note: The bus will leave Cape Coast by 3:00pm, and the drive is approximately 3 hours. Please ensure your flight does not depart from Accra before 9PM.)

Are you ready to get your Ghanaian name? You’ll have the opportunity to participate in an authentic Naming Ceremony, and meet your new Ghanaian elders and family.
After that, if energy is high, we’ll head to Kakum National Park for a walk on the wild side at this unique canopy walk.
What’s vacation without a beach party?!
That’s why we’ll be hitting up one of Accra’s best kept secret beaches for a day of fun in the sun...
Complete with waist bead fittings, cooking classes, afro beats dance lessons, a BTF style photoshoot, and plenty of turn up!
It’s time to dive in, as we start the day by visiting a couple of historic sites, paired with a trip to the market for a bit of shopping and a visit to the tailor for custom digs.
By the evening, you’ll either be turning up at Afrochella and hitting up the after parties, or taking time to discover your own Accra experience.
Now’s the time to see if you can hang because we’re doing it again. Kick off your day with a visit to the legendary Black Star Gate and be ready to strike your fiercest pose. Then, if you’ve opted for Afrochella, we’ll take you to the festival location so you can take in the day time set up.
By evening, our Party After Party crew will be hitting Afrochella and heading for a VIP nightlife experience.
We’ll have a chill kickback at a beachside luxury mansion, built by one of our very own BTF travelers after visiting Ghana with us in 2019.
This is your day to chill poolside, sip refreshing juices (or cocktails if you’re game), and recuperate from the whirlwind of magic that is Accra during Detty December.
It’s time to leave Accra behind. So, we’ll make our way to retrace the steps of our ancestors at Assin Manso, the ancestral slave river, followed by an emotional visit to Cape Coast Castle.
In the evening, we’ll enjoy a lowkey kickback that allows us to reflect on the experiences of the day.

Q: What vaccinations are required for travel to Ghana?
Q: What entry documents are required?
Note: This is subject to change. As of now, you are required to have both the Yellow Fever and Covid-19 vaccination to enter Ghana. But those who are unvaccinated, a negative COVID-19 test (PCR and/or serology) will be required for entry.
You’ll require a visa which you can process either ahead of time by mailing your passport to the embassy, or you can potentially get a visa on arrival. You’ll need a passport with at least 6 months of validity in order to travel.

No, this go-round flights are NOT included in the price, but you can check Secretflying.com, Priceline.com, and Kayak.com to find competitive flight prices on the market.

If your flight has you arriving on December 26th, you can let us know your budget and we’ll recommend a reasonably priced hotel.

The trip is non-refundable; however, it is transferable. This means you are permitted to resell your slot to another participant, but Black Travel Fest is unable to offer a refund. We’ll do our best to assist you in finding a replacement.
Yes, airport transfers are included in the package price. Note that you will likely be transported to the hotel with other participants, which may require you to wait for up to an hour after landing.

Cancellation and Transferability
Q: WHAT IF I GET SICK AND CAN'T MAKE IT? WHAT IF I CAN’T TRAVEL LAST MINUTE? CAN I GET MY MONEY BACK?
Q: what is the policy for name changes should i need to transfer my reservation?
Q: what if the travel to ghana is impossible at the time of the event due to a pandemic or other large scale travel disruption?
All payments are non-refundable, but may be transferred to another traveler for a fee of $75. Trip insurance can help if you have a need to cancel unexpectedly.
If you have questions regarding trip insurance coverage, please contact Cici Chandler, travel agent with Mahogany Fly International (onyxtravel@misscicibaby.com). If you live outside of the United States, please contact your local travel agent to purchase travel insurance for the festival.
Name changes are permitted for $75 per person. Name changes are NOT permitted for Roomie Matching Program. Name changes can only be made with people not currently booked for the event. The person taking your place needs to register with a staff member at Amola Enterprises, LLC and provide their credit card information. You must work out the money already paid between yourselves. The person taking your place pays the remaining balance to Amola Enterprises, LLC.
Name changes can be completed up to 2 weeks prior to the event. No name changes will be made after the deadline.

Should travel to the destination become impossible, the trip will be rescheduled to a date 6 to 12 months in the future. For example, if the trip is scheduled for December 2023 it may be rescheduled to November 2024.
